About the authors:
Nick Paleveda received his B.A. and M.B.A. Degree from the University of South Florida and his Law Degree from the University of Miami. Mr. Paleveda also attended the University of Denver and received a Master of Laws in Taxation. Mr. Paleveda attended programs in Oxford University and Harvard University. He is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, the U.S. Tax Court the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Paleveda was a partner in the law firm Hampton, Paleveda, Murphy, Cody and Levy and conducted over 1,000 Advanced Tax and Estate Planning Seminars throughout the U.S. Mr. Paleveda was a contributing author for “The Life Insurance Answer Book for Qualified Plans and Estate Planning” (1997) published by Panel Publishing and 412(i) Defined Benefit Plans. Mr. Paleveda is the CEO for National Pension Partners in Bellingham, Washington. Mr. Paleveda was the Florida State Chess Champion in 1977, 1978 and 1994. In Trivia, The Executive Benefits Team won the Trivia Bee championship two years in a row, once with the help of Ken Jennings.
Marjorie Ewing received her B.A. in Accounting from Cal State Fullerton and a Masters in Business Taxation Degree from the University of Southern California. Ms. Ewing also holds a B.A. in English from Georgia State and attended both Oxford University, New York University and the University of Washington. Ms. Ewing was a tax accountant for PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Los Angeles and is currently the General Manager for A.R.I.S. an actuarial and benefits administration firm in Bellingham, Washington
